Friday 14 September 2012

After an awesome bank holiday, Label are getting excited and ready for first Freshers! We are going to make Freshers 2012 MASSIVE and you're all invited to help Newcastle's new students how it's done! There are lots of exciting things to look forward to so watch this space.

If you are coming to Newcastle in September our team at Label have come up with some must have items for the ultimate student lifestyle.

Item number one is a beer bong,  for the perfect bonding experience we suggest what is known as the "octobong" so everyone can get drunk in unison

A VERY high pair of heels, you're now in competition with Geordie girls all over Newcastle and if you want to look good killer heels are a must. The Geordie Shore lot have demonstrated that you could even wear them to uni if you really wanted...

DVDs, when you're hungover there's nothing better than chilling with your new flatmates (or that nice girl you met at Label last weekend) and watching your favorite film. DVDs will save your life when there's nothing on telly because I am yet to find a student halls that provides Sky+! Here are some scenes from our favorite hangover movie that will have you laughing for hours...

Supernoodles, these will soon become the staple item in your cupboard. After you've spent all your money on booze and nights out this will be the closest you'll get to fine dining until your next trip home. Can be eaten by themselves, with cheese on, in a sandwich...a versatile must have item for your kitchen!

Obviously all other items needed by students are books, stationary, food...etc I suppose they're important too.

Label Is Soon to be trading 7 nights a week. And with some exciting new activities starting soon we will have a night to fit all tastes. So lets take you through a week in the life of Label.

From Label to Ibiza

Another bank holiday weekend draws near and we have so Many exciting things going on.

For those lucky enough to have a holiday on the way here are some great looks for sun, sea and partying. Some fun looks include body paint for events such as The Zoo Project in Ibiza - here are some of TOWIE's finest rocking this look.

Lydia Bright and Random Rabbit Man                                                            Joey Essex and Cara Kilbey

The Marbella look is growing very popular with more and more girls opting for heels poolside and elaborately embellished bikinis. One girl who never fails to get it wrong is TOWIE's lush Lucy Mecklenburgh. Here are some of her finest photos for you all to drool over:

Label are hosting another wonderful bank holiday event for our MASSIVE AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEKENDER! As always we have some awesome prizes with the biggest being a holiday to the closing parties in sunny Ibiza!

For those of you who have never been here is a beginners guide to Ibiza:

Pacha: located in Ibiza town and home to some of the most popular DJs of the decade Pacha currently hosts club nights for Tiesto, Peter Tong and David Guetta's renowned F**K Me I'm Famous night. Amazing atmosphere with cool roof top terrace definitely worth the visit.

Amnesia: one of the bigger clubs, with two massive rooms Amnesia is designed like a large warehouse. With Cream as their most popular night Laidback Luke, Calvin Harris and Above and Beyond regularly DJ here. Other nights including Sven Vath's Cocoon which is techno/minimal/house and Together.

Es Paradis: located facing Eden and San Antonio beach Es Paradis has the most picturesque interior of all the super clubs in Ibiza. Home of Hedkandi on a Saturday night and host of the notorious water party Fiesta del Agua, Es Paradis have recently took on indie club night propaganda which is Saturday night at Newcastle's O2 arena.

The Zoo Project: one of Ibiza's fantastic outdoor venues. Held on a Wednesday and Saturday as an all day event The Zoo Project is a place where you can get dressed up in animal print with body paint and bizarre masks. Always a must this abandoned zoo is a prime location for all day partying and something everyone will enjoy.

Bora Bora Beach: Ibiza's famous beach disco located in Playa Den Bossa. Great for when you've slept in and missed the sun for the first few days because of your hangover. Tab while you party this wild beach bar opens from early afternoon to midnight every night. Always busy it's an amazing place to spend your day to get yourself pumped up for a mad night even when you think you've outdone yourself.

West End: when you're a bit short on cash and you've spent most of your week in the super clubs the West End is craic central in San Antonio. A massive strip of small bars and clubs this has something for everyone from karaoke Joe Spoons to hardstyle The Highlander.

Cafe Mambo: last but not least the most chilled place in the whole of Ibiza. This is prime location for watching the famous Ibiza sunset. With DJs such as Eric Prydz, Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta known to perform there it's a great way to start the night. Bring your own booze and sit on the rocks for predrinking, excellent way to start things off.

Want to go on holiday to Ibiza now? Well...you could be! Just buy one of our cocktail suitcases and get a photo taken by our photographer and you'll be put in for the draw. All forms of dress welcome, why don't you and your friends have a Zoo Project night?

Storming into Summer

June came to an end with one of the worst thunderstorms we have seen for a long time, and we welcome July with the hope of better weather as we prepare to PARTY! Whether or not you've already been on holiday...or waiting to go!...at Label we'll be ready to cure those Ibiza blues or maybe put you through boozy boot camp as you prepare for a messy week in Ibiza! Everyone is ready for fun and Label will supply all you with a fantastic venue and great drinks offers throughout all the Summer madness!

The end of June saw the nation celebrate National Armed Forces Day. A day in which we celebrate the brave men and women who serve our country. To celebrate this we dressed our staff up in their sexiest camo gear and helped raise money for the Help For Heroes charity. The weekend was a huge success and we managed to raise over £300 pounds. So thank you to all the customers who donated and Thank you to all the people serving is the countries armed forces.

Geordie lasses love big hair so we are going to introduce you to your latest hair necessity - Sleep Rollers! Unlike your average Velcro roller Sleep Rollers can be put in and worn in bed, taking hours off your getting ready routine and can be used everyday! Can be used to create lots of different styles whether you want curvaceous curls or just a bit of bounce in your blow dry these rollers are guaranteed to become a staple everyday item. Follow them on Twitter @SLEEPROLLERS and tweet to let them know you heard about them in our blog #LabelTakeover / @label_newcastle! Sceptical about the results? Made popular and tried and tested by the Desperate Scousewives, here are some before and after pics:

After

July also brings the long awaited released of The Dark Knight sequel, The Dark Knight Rises! Our expectations are high already from the late Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight, but with an all star cast you can expect to see Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and of course...Batman himself Christian Bale. The movie is due to premier on 20th July in the UK it's set 8 years after The Dark Night Batman returns to Gotham to make amends after he took the wrap for Harvey Dent's crimes. He must save the city from the evil of Bane, the only villan in the comics to "Break the Bat", will this happen in the movie we can only wait and see. And how will the ever elusive Cat Woman turn out, will she be working with or against the bat. Here is the awesome trailer, tweet us and let us know what you think! @label_newcastle / #LabelTakeover:

To celebrate 4th of July our fashion theme for the week is stars and stripes to celebrate American Independance Day. After all the Union Jack craze for the Jubilee I think it's time for a change! The key rule to sporting this look is: LESS IS MORE. Don't overdo it or you may end up looking like a yankee version of Ollie Locke, and no one wants that. Try one item such as a top, shorts or maybe even a pair of shoes! This will brighten up your whole outfit and give your look a bit of an edge. Here are some pics of the stunning stars and stripes queen Katy Perry, let us know how you get on and tweet us at @label_newcastle / #LabelLook:

When you visit Label this Summer make sure you check-in on Facebook to receive your free shot at the DJ stand! We also have other great perks such as FREE ENTRY ALL WEEK LONG! £1.50 for Jagerbombs and selected bottles and our highly sought after BUY ONE GET ONE FREE COCKTAILS!
