Spring Is Here

Spring has sprung bloggers, and as I predicted the sun is shining giving us a great start to the week!  Here at Label we had a great St Patrick's weekend and it was great to see you all dressed in your best shamrock coloured outfits, you may even have seen our own little leprechaun Charlie outside on the red carpet over the course of the night. Inside, we had a visit from the wonderful Brendan Rodrigues who left everyone stunned and amazed with his strange and spectacular tricks.

With summer creeping up on us the good weather has reminded me to prepare for my summer beach body! With some small, simple changes you'll be ready for bikini weather in no time, here at Label our motto is 'look good to feel good' (however judging by this week's I AM VIP photos you all looked fantastic anyway!)

• Light exercise - something as easy as getting off the bus a stop early or taking the stairs instead of the lift can burn off a few extra calories and give you a boost of energy that will make you feel great! 
• Don't skip breakfast - eating something when you wake up not only only aids weight loss but it's been proven to keep you smiling all day! Skipping breakfast can bring about a bad mood.
• Top up your tan - opt for a daily moisturiser with a built in gradual tanner! Geordies are renowned for their gorgeous, golden glow so exfoliate once a week to get rid of the dead skin for a nice deep bronze.

One of 2012's hottest newcomers Lana Del Rey has caught my attention. I'd seen her mentioned a lot across the internet and I was more than impressed when I decided to buy her new album Born to Die! Not only does she make great music but Label thinks she's the perfect combination of quirky and sexy and one of our top style icons at the moment. Lana is fresh with a retro edge and has been dubbed as a 'modern day Nancy Sinatra'. The music on the album is the perfect soundtrack for a lazy afternoon sunbathing in your back garden.






Here is her new song 'Blue Jeans' hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did!

The pressure is now on to make Summer 2012 one to remember and what better way to do that than with a Summer holiday?! Our favourite holiday location is Cancun, Mexico - guaranteed to be an experience you'll never forget. With a nightlife that makes even Newcastle seem quiet and a great variety of clubs there will be something for everyone. The nightclubs here provide partying you could only dream about from ice bars to bikini competitions, although, unlike here at Label,  I can't guarantee the cocktails will be buy one get one free. Cancun is a great place to work on your tan with temperatures as high as 35°C, it's white beaches and clear blue water are enough to cure any hangover. So when you've finally perked up from the night before there are plenty of great activities like water skiing and paragliding. If you've had a tough time choosing your holiday destination this Summer I'm sure this has made your decision for you! Here is a scene from one of the best nightclubs Cancun has to offer, The City - if this doesn't make you want to party I don't know what will!

Fashion for the Weekend



Welcome to the start of a new week bloggers! I trust you are all now well rested after a long weekend of partying? A lot of very special guests graced us with their presence last week including the lovely Players staff, Nyce Nails and we were even paid a visit by the very smartly dressed staff of Yates on their awards night. Hopefully you were able to join us too, if not...then you really missed out!

I was overwhelmed the amount of really, really, ridiculously good looking people...so much so that in this weeks blog I've decided to take a look at the new fashion and trends to hit our red carpet here at Label! At this time of year it can be hard to choose what to wear because we're in between seasons, however, in Newcastle we're never afraid to show some skin. I've picked three essential items for every girl's wardrobe this week:

There's been a lot of hype over new movie Project X so, naturally, I wanted to see what the fuss was about. With just a group of teenagers and a camera it's managed to become one of the most talked about films of 2012. The camera follows the young boys in their endevour to throw the best house party their school has ever seen. What starts off as a small get together quickly spirals out of control - with scenes of bad behaviour and a sick soundtrack it was definitely "the party you've only dreamed about".

Welcome

Welcome to the all new Label Link, a blog that keeps you up to date with all the latest fashion, music, social and late night news and happenings in our infamous city.

As this is the first one we will keep it short and snappy,

Well after the derby day Label played host on Sunday night again to the legendary DJ Craig Moran. The night was topped off by some groups of pre-Candypants @ Tup Tup Palace goers dropping in for some buy 1 get 1 free cocktails and Laura, our Irish 'hostess with the mostess', even managed to convince them (helped by the amazing music provided by Craig) to stay for a cheeky bottle of vodka served at there table.

If you did not brave the town on Sunday night or were in no fit state to play out till 2am you missed out, so you'll have to come this week doors open at 9pm and it's free entry all night.
